First Post-Certification WOD
I took the early part of this week off. Lots of training the previous week, and my 2nd attempt at the CrossFit Games WOD #2, left me with some calf strain that was irritated further during the certification this past weekend. But, I laced up my new New Balance Minimus (review coming soon), told my buddy Damon to meet me at the gym for his 2nd on-ramp class, and got in a workout today.
I took Damon through the 2nd progression we offer as part of the CrossFit fundamental movements: the press series. This is comprised of the standing/shoulder press, the push press, and the push jerk. Funny, the push jerk is part of the Games WOD #3? Wonder why I’d want to practice that?
After a light warm-up run and some press practice (coaching practice for me, really), we did a simple little workout:
5 rounds for time of:
250m Row
10 Chest-to-Deck Pushups (hands off floor at the bottom of the pushup)
I finished in 8:10. Damon in 8:46. Not a bad one, fairly easy recovery.
On to the next one…
