WOD: Strength Cycle Week 1 Day 1 (take 2)
Last week was week 0, the preparatory week I took to figure out loading and to get the rhythm of a session pattern I hadn’t done in awhile. 12 weeks of strength starts… now. (Well, technically yesterday, but still.)
Week 1 Day 1
Warm-up: Light jump rope, pre-hab/mobility/stretching
Bench Press
2 x 5, 1 x 20 @ 100#
Overhead Squats
2 x 5, 1 x 12 @ 75#
L-Sits
6 x 20s with 30s rest
Back Squat
2 x 5, 1 x 9 @ 165#
Notes:
No video. Check those bench press reps. Not sure if it was all the sleep from the weekend, the full week of Whole30 eating prior to, or what, but I did 12 at 95# last Friday. Seriously need to rethink that weight. The OHS can prolly go up a little bit more as well. It’s really my arms/shoulders that tire before the squats themselves. I’ll ride that one out a little more slowly though. Last thing I need is a blown shoulder.
